Light, healthy and packed with protein and probiotics, your snack (and dessert) game just got more exciting! The best part? It’s ready in 5 minutes.

I know, I am late to the whole “mug cake” frenzy.
And yes, now I will admit that I wish I jumped on this bandwagon a whole lot sooner.
But from now on, this will be new favorite snack. And treat. And maybe breakfast some days. There’s protein in there!
My version of a mug cake contains some added protein to help keep you full. Being that this is vegan, gluten free and dairy free it is healthy enough to eat for breakfast.
See where I am going with this?
I guess I never realized just how easy these mug cakes actually were to make. And I also love that I ma not making a huge dessert which I just might be tempted to eating the whole thing.
Thee mug cakes are portion controlled and you don’t have to share with anyone. I love it.
Yeah, I am talking to you, kids. We can each have our own. No, you may not eat mine.
Get your own.
This is a build up of frustration of years and years of my kids eating my food.
I am over it.
So yes, I added some melted chocolate and sprinkles to make this even more fun, but since I’ve had it both ways, I can’t attest that it’s equally delicious with or without the fun stuff.
On top of all this deliciousness, there is a ton of protein and probiotics in here!
I was so excited to try this PlantFusion Vanilla Chai Protein and I absolutely loved it. Plantfusion protein is 100% plant-based (vegan), dairy, soy and gluten free, sugar free, top 8 allergen free, is smooth tasting compared to other vegan plant proteins and is the only powder on the market that includes probiotics and fermented foods to aid digestion!
That’s huge!
I love my probiotics. What I love even more about Plantfusion is their “whole food” approach.
They use living fermented foods which contains tons of strains of naturally occurring probiotics that help to aid in digestion. I love this.
Remember, all proper health begins with optimal gut health, and that’s where these probiotics come into the picture.
This whole thing takes 5 minutes to make! No more excuses that you don’t have time for a healthy snack.
Or Breakfast.
Or dessert.
I mean, everyone has an extra 5 minutes, right?
I put this mug cake on the plate just to show you how easy it comes out, but you can easily just eat it right out of the mug to make it even easier and it have less clean up.
I can’t wait to create some more mug cake recipes for you guys! Be on the look at for some delicious, new, creative treats!

That’s so cool that it has fermented foods and probiotics in there! I NEED this. I try to eat sauerkraut every day but it’s hard because I absolutely hate it. ๐ I’d much rather eat this cake. ๐
Yes Erin, this is so much better than sauerkraut ๐
I love that this is made with a protein powder, makes it filling as well as a treat!

This mug cake looks amazing. Plant protein was a nice touch! Thanks for this
Thank you Robert!
Why is the coconut oil needed?
Hi Teri! I imagine it would be too dry without the coconut oil? Let me know if you make it without it! Thank you!
I’m even later to the game than you are – I still haven’t tried making one! This sounds delicious, and that protein powder sounds like something I’d love to have on hand.
It’s never too late Heather!
I love this!!! I’ve never done a mug cake either… but now I totally want to try one. I love how protein-packed this meal is — and how quick it is! No excuse to not have a great breakfast!

I’ll admit I used to make the unhealthy version of these during my last pregnancy, after the other two kids when to bed!
Pregnancy cravings don’t count Ally ๐
Oh my gosh, this looks fabulous. I think mug cakes are genius – you get a great cake fix without committing to an entire cake.
