Why You Should Make This Pear Applesauce
This pear applesauce is so easy to prepare, there is no excuse not to make it. No extra sugar is necessary in this recipe, the natural sweetness of the pears and apples are just enough.
You can easily use all apples if you don't have any ripe pears. There is no turning back after you try this. Store bought applesauce will never taste the same again.
Making your own applesauce is a great way to save money as well. I love to go apple picking and grab lots of apples (and possibly pears) and store them in individual mason jars.
This pear applesauce is loaded with antioxidants and fiber. It makes the perfect, plant-based healthy, make ahead snack.
Recipe Tips
The beauty of making this pear applesauce is that your an easily use whatever fruits you'd like. I've used berries, grapes and even pineapples instead of pears. Get creative and use what you have in the house.
I also like using this pear applesauce in baked goods as a healthy replacement for eggs in so many baked goods. You can make a batch of this and store in the refrigerator for when you feel like baking.
Next time you are baking, try substituting this pear applesauce instead of eggs and see just how moist and tender your cookies, cake or muffins come out.
