Move over boring PB & J on white bread…your favorite sandwich just got a huge makeover! Disclaimer: I was compensated by Dave's Killer Bread to create this recipe. However, like always, the opinions are entirely my own. Promise 🙂

This grilled sandwich is a sweet and savory delight that’s as indulgent as it is wholesome. Creamy almond butter and rich, melted dark chocolate are layered with fresh, juicy strawberries and a sprinkle of chia seeds—all nestled between two slices of golden, buttery grilled bread.

The perfect fusion of nutty, fruity, and chocolaty flavors, with a satisfying crunch and gooey center. It’s comfort food with a nutritious twist—ideal for breakfast, brunch, or a guilt-free dessert.

If you are looking for more delicious chocolate recipes, Chocolate Chocolate Chip Protein Ice Cream, Salted Caramel Chocolate Bars, Vanilla Chocolate Cheesecake Bars and definitely these Chocolate Truffles!

All of these would be even more yummy with some Low Carb Bulletproof Hot Chocolate, Apple Chai Latte, Eggnog Latte and definitely some Spiked Apple Cider!

Also, my cookbooks are both on sale now and would make a great gift! The Everything Wheat Free Diet Cookbook and The Greek Yogurt Cookbook are both the lowest prices I have seen!

Why You Should Make This Grilled Chocolate Sandwich

Have you seen that commercial where the dad is shopping for back to school supplies, skipping down the aisles while the kids look sad and  "It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year" is playing??  It's awesome.  And yes, mostly every parent out there feels that way.  I know I do.

Listen, I love having my kids home and doing fun summer activities as much as the next person, but by August I am always ready for a normal routine again.  My kids don't go back to school until September but I know many kids start in August.

It's never too early to start thinking about lunches for back to school and if you are like me, it can get stressful.

All of my kids love PB & J, but just like anything else, that can get boring if you eat it every day.  I thought this would be a great way to mix things up a bit.  And boy was I right.

Decadent, yet healthy this grilled chocolate sandwich is the perfect "treat".

    Recipe Tips

I used my favorite, Dave's Killer Bread for this grilled sandwich.  It's organic, NON-GMO Verified, packed with protein and fiber and even omega-3-fatty acids!  Why not add some nutrition your sandwich?

    Dave's Killer Bread.Pin

If you don't have the time to grill this, simply make it as a regular sandwich.  It tastes great both ways, trust me, I know!

I have made this grilled chocolate sandwich so many different ways. I've used crunchy peanut butter, sunflower seed butter, all kinds of jellies and jams...the possibilities are endless. Just get creative.

My kids loved these sandwiches with all of the chocolate almond butter oozing out of them (one of my kids even licked the plate to make sure he didn't waste any) but you don't have to put as much on each slice.  Probably 1 tablespoon on each slice is enough, but I won't tell if you add more.

As much as I love spending time with my boys during the summer, the fighting-every-five-minutes phase that we've now entered is getting old. This sandwich sounds like a kid's dream lunch!

First of all, that's basically the best name for bread EVER! And I love everything on this sandwich. Almond butter is a total weakness of mine, but I've never had some with chocolate in it!

I used to hate that commercial as a kid! Now that I don't have to go to school, I have to admit it was funny! Love this idea for a sandwich - it might even be my dinner later 😉
