Ah, the wonderful flavors of fall. I am guilty of giving pumpkin WAY too much attention, but apple deserves it's own celebration too!

I love apple all year long, but there is something about in-season apple cider that just makes me happy.

If you are looking for some more healthier donut recipes, you will love these

Baked Applesauce Donuts with Vanilla Yogurt Glaze, No Bake Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes and these Baked Hot Chocolate Donuts with Marshmallow Glaze!

All of these would be even more yummy with some Low Carb Bulletproof Hot Chocolate, Apple Chai Latte and definitely some Spiked Apple Cider!

Also, my cookbooks are both on sale now and would make a great gift! The Everything Wheat Free Diet Cookbook and The Greek Yogurt Cookbook are both the lowest prices I have seen!

Why You Should Make These Baked Apple Cider Donuts

At less than 100 calories per donut, you can enjoy these completely guilt free. Regular fried donuts contain anywhere from 30-400 calories EACH.

You can still enjoy all of your favorite fall flavors without all of the unnecessary fat and carbs.

I love to make a batch of these apple cider donuts on a Sunday (meal prep day) to have for a quick and convenient breakfast or snack for the week. I love knowing all of the ingredients of the treats that my kids are eating.

    Recipe Tips

I don't like FRIED donuts or doughnuts (which is it, anyway??).  But give me a BAKED donut and I am in heaven.  Because let's be honest, it's just like a light and fluffier muffin, shaped in the letter O, right?

And speaking of muffins, if you don't have one of these handy dandy baked donut pans, you can easily make these into muffins using a muffin pan.

You can easily freeze these but just make sure you wrap in parchment paper before storing in an airtight container. Freeze them for 3 months.

    • ¼ cup butter at room temperature
    • ½ cup unrefined sugar
    • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
    • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • ⅔ cup oats

    • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla
    • ½ cup applesauce unsweetened

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Grease the donut or muffin pan.

My husband loves apple cider donuts! He used to always get them on the boardwalk in Ocean City and also the farmers markets with Amish stands when we lived in PA.
