The weather is getting warmer, the sun is shining more and cocktails are becoming lighter. These sugar-free Mojito Wine Spritzers are under 100 calories, lightly sweet, refreshing and guilt-free!
Ahhh…the weather has been so nice and it feels fantastic to be out of my winter hibernation. I always seem to "hide out" in the winter.
I don't actually become depressed, I just kind of become a huge hermit. Now that the sun is shining more and I have been running outside more, it feels great to feel normal again.
If you are like me, you enjoy a fun cocktail (or two) with this changing weather. I decided to put two of my favorites together, wine and mojitos!
But let's be honest, you can enjoy these Mojito Wine Spritzers any time of the year. There are no rules that say you can only drink these babies in the warm weather of the spring or summer.
They are pretty enough and have such a gorgeous presentation to drink the all year long.
Why You Should Make These Mojito Wine Spritzers
I am really trying to cut back on sugar and carbs which is not always easy. Did you know that some of your favorite cocktails can have upwards of 400 calories and 30 grams of sugar in one cocktail?
That is quite eye opening and pretty disturbing. If you would like one, go for it and thoroughly enjoy it. But any more than one of them my stomach would be killing me.
I am trying to be conscious of all of that unnecessary sugar and trying to prevent those stomach aches by cutting back on sugar in any way that I can.
The club soda or seltzer also cuts down on sugar and calories while also keeping you hydrated at the same time. We all know that alcohol naturally dehydrates you so any way to add some more water is optimal.
The club soda or seltzer also helps cut down on calories too. Go ahead and add the liquid stevia if you would like some added sweetness.
You should also drink at least one or two glasses of water in between each cocktail you drink to help keep you hydrated. This is very important in preventing the dreaded hangover.
Recipe FAQ's and Expert Tips
A wooden spoon is probably the most available alternative at home for a muddler. With the tip of the handle, gently press the mint leaves to the bottom of the glass if your spoon has a slightly rounded or flat end
You can definitely add ice and if you are worried it might get watered down, simply add a little less club soda or seltzer.
I have also used liquid Monk fruit if you would like it stay sugar free, or you can also use a very small amount of honey, agave syrup or fruit juice if you don't mind some added sugar.

Our weather is being so freakin weird here. One day it's hot and the next its' cold and rainy. However I'd take one of these spritzers no matter that the weather was! Yum!
