Easy to make with all healthy ingredients, these Simple Sugar Cookies will be your new family favorite treat! These are completely freezer friendly and kid approved.

These sugar cookies are the perfect treat for when you want something just a little bit healthier than traditional cookies. Yes, there is a sugar in them ( I mean, they ARE sugar cookies after all) but I used unrefined sugars and coconut oil to make them a bit healthier. These sugar cookies can help satisfy your sweet cravings.
Oh and just so you know, these also taste delicious with unsalted butter instead of coconut oil if that is what you have in the house.
I made these cookies every year for Christmas and Valentine's Day but they are also easy enough to make them all throughout the year.
If you are looking for some more healthy cookie recipes, you will love these Iced Sugar Cookies, Healthy Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies and definitely these Chocolate Brownie Cookies!
These would all be even better with this Apple Chai Latte, Low Carb Bulletproof Hot Chocolate or even this Spiked Apple Cider.
Also, my cookbooks are both on sale now and would make a great gift! The Everything Wheat Free Diet Cookbook and The Greek Yogurt Cookbook are both the lowest prices I have seen!
Why You Should Make These Sugar Cookies
These sugar cookies are completely customizable and can be made for whatever season or occasion you want. That's why I love them so much, you can make a dozen cookies and make each one different from the next.
These are simple to make with easy to find ingredients and will be ready in 30 minutes. I don't have time for fancy, hard to make sugar cookie recipes.
These cookies are lightened up so you can enjoy one or two guilt free. I don't believe in deprivation, especially around the holidays.
Recipe Tips
These cookies are so incredibly freezer friendly. Sometimes I freeze a whole batch of them and then simply defrost them and decorate them however you'd like. This means you can have sugar cookies ready whenever you want.
They still taste delicious, even straight out of the freezer. Yes, my kids love them when they are still completely frozen.
I place groups of 3 cookies (one for each of my kids) in a freezer safe resealable bag to easily pull out for dessert. And the added bonus is I am not tempted to eat all of them if they are staring at me from my kitchen counter.
Don't they say "Out of sight, out of mind". There is some validity in that.
You can add whatever toppings you like; frosting, sprinkles, M & M's, extra sugar, or simply leave them plain. You can get elaborate and creative or keep them simple (like what I do).
These are super easy to make and the batter freezes well if you just want to make a few sugar cookies at a time.
I am definitely not the most fancy baker there is, but I just might be the most simple one that uses real ingredients.
