Don’t let the delicious taste of this fool you, this scrumptious dip is filled with protein, antioxidants and fiber!
Ok, raise your hand if you are eating healthier in the new year!
Both hands raised!
Although January is always super cold and the days are so short, I love the fact that many people are starting to eat healthier and take care of themselves. Most of my clients and friends say that the hardest part of eating healthy is that they miss snacking. I am not sure why, there are so many choices for healthy snacks (I mean, have you read my blog??) and you should always be able to eat a well-balanced snack. And that is where my friend Greek yogurt comes in to the picture.
You all know how much I love Greek yogurt ( I did write a cookbook dedicated to it after all!) It’s low calorie, packed with protein and is incredibly convenient. What’s not to love, right? But, just like anything else, you have to get creative to prevent boredom. Oh boy, this dip is anything but boring!
I was shopping at Walmart when I spotted Yoplait Greek yogurt in a bunch of different flavors, all 100 calories.
Since I typically only put sliced fruit in my Greek yogurt, I decided to try vanilla. And then it hit me, I need to make some type of fun dip with this!
Don’t get me wrong, I still love my berries and Greek yogurt, but somedays you just need something a little different. I decided I am going to 1 Up My Cup and make this crazy delicious dip. Chocolate + Peanut Butter + Vanilla Greek yogurt = heaven.
I like to get creative with my snacks so I don’t feel deprived. I personally need to eat every few hours, so why in the world would I waste that with something boring? Here’s the nutrition bonus: I added cacao (which is basically, raw, unprocessed chocolate) which is loaded with antioxidants and minerals and chia seeds which contain omega-3-fatty acids (healthy fats), fiber and protein. So yes, I’ve created an insanely healthy snack that also tastes insanely delicious. You’re welcome.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip
Ingredients
- 6 ounces Yoplait Vanilla Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- fruit for dipping
Instructions
-
Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl.
-
Allow to sit for at least 30 minutes and enjoy.
I added the chia seeds at the end but you can also mix them all together too. Also, dip whatever you’d like in here! I used sliced fruit on toothpicks but you can easily use apple slices, graham crackers, pretzels, whatever you’d like!
So tell me, what is your favorite way to 1-Up Your Cup?

I would have never thought to use greek yogurt for this! Great recipe!
Thanks Christie!
Digging this quick and easy (and healthy) snack. Great idea to use yogurt for a sweet dip!
Thanks Denise!
I am craving chocolate right now! This looks delish!
Thanks Nicole!
This looks awesome! Tip for shopping for greek yogurt though, check the labels of individual sweetened greek yogurts. Some have more than 20g of sugar per serving. That’s more than a can of Coke! I recently switched to mostly plain because I checked the yogurt in my fridge and found 26g of sugar in one 5 oz cup. Always better to buy plain and sweeten it yourself to actually be healthy with greek yogurt. (I’ll still grab an individual cherry flavored one every so often though. SO YUMMY)
Yes Christina, I totally agree. I only eat plain Greek yogurt but my kids do eat the vanilla (they won’t eat the plain!)
I suppose I need to find a blog about the benefits of Greek yogurt- but I feel about Greek yogurt the way you feel about coconut. Will this hide the “flavor”?
You can’t taste the Greek yogurt in this.
