Packed with fiber, protein, antioxidants and healthy fats, this energy drink is perfect right before your next workout!

This Blood Orange Green Tea Energy Drink is filled with antioxidants, protein, omega-3-fatty acids and antioxidants! This is the perfect healthy drink before a workout! #vegan #norefinedsugarsI was in the grocery store last week and I noticed the chia drinks like Synergy and Mama Chia.  I always pick them up, read the ingredients, check the price and put it back on the shelf.

They are expensive and some have over 20 grams of sugar per serving!

And some of them have unnecessary additives like sugars, preservatives, additives and colors.  So I decided to make my own which was super easy to prepare and ridiculously CHEAP!

I am all about saving money and making sure that I know exactly what the ingredients are in what I am eating and drinking. That is very important to me.

You guys know I love my chia seeds.  They are so ridiculously good for you.

I am also on a blood orange kick these days.  You can use the juice of whatever fruit you like but I especially love blood oranges in the winter.

I love to make this with all different fruits that I have on hand just to mix it up and to prevent boredom. If you are anything at all like me you can tend to eat or drink the same thing for days on end.

Sometimes it's just easier this way but yes it can get a little tedious. I frequently need reminders to mix up my routine every now and then.

And this has no added sugar (besides the natural sugar in the orange!) I steeped my favorite Yogi Green Tea Kombucha for this drink but I have also used Numi Mate Lemon which also tasted delicious.

I only drink green tea and no coffee at all, so the small amount of caffeine from the green tea will give me that energy boost to help me through my run or my insanely difficult Bar Method class!

And there are some days when we can all use a little energy boost, right?

Especially if you have kids, I know you will understand.

It's super easy to prepare and you can make a few at once for your prep days. It saves so much time and is convenient for those busy days.

I don't use any extra sweetener in this because I don't think you need it. But a few of my readers have told me that they have added some stevia and other sugar free alternatives that tasted great.

If you use any of these please come back and let me know, I love to hear about it!

What a fabulous way to use chia seeds! I have seen those drinks too and for the price I always wonder if it's worth it. Now that I know I can make them from scratch I'm all over this!

SO glad I found this! I occasionally treat my picky 10 yr old to the Mama Chia drinks because she loves them and since they're good for her I can't say no! Can't wait to make this for her! Thank you!

I agree that all those specialty drinks are crazy expensive when you can totally make it at home where you can control the ingredients, love your version!

I just got my husband on the chia pudding train. And now I need to get him OFF the only-drinking-coffee-all-day train, and get him on this! I had no idea you could put chia in a drink! Pinned!
