When friends and loved ones are suffering with seasonal allergies or the nagging cold, why not send them a care package to help them feel better?

Disclaimer: I was compensated by Jakemans to create this post. However, like always, the opinions are entirely my own. Promise!

'Tis the season for all of that pollen!

My husband and kids suffer so terribly with seasonal allergies that I legitimately feel terrible for them. Their eyes are watering and puffy, noses are running and congested, throats are sore and scratchy. And then there is me. Perfectly fine. Eyes are ever so slightly a tiny bit dry, but all together totally fine. ย I hate to see them suffer and I really do feel awful.

My husband has always agonized with torturous allergies. ย And boy does he get miserable. Although I empathize a great deal, I really can't relate. ย I had always been familiar with seasonal allergies from my father who experiences terrible allergies and sinus problems and also my very best friend from college. She always hated going outside during allergy and pollen season.

I hoped once we had children that they wouldn't inherit these dreaded allergies. ย And 2 out of the 3 of my little guys got them. Now it's just me and my youngest who are scott free. I know how lucky we are!

What I have learned is that everyone has different allergy symptoms, very much like that of a cold. ย After watching my dad, my best friend and watching my kids suffer, I decided to put together a Cold & Allergy Survival Kit! ย Obviously being true to myself, my kit will contain all natural remedies. These are all products that I can feel good about sharing with my friends and family.

This is what I sent to my dad:

My dad's package will contain all of the products above.

Antimicrobial wipes to help remove any pollen and germs.

Local Honey that helps your body adapt to the allergens in the environment of where you live by building a tolerance. ย Try to get your honey as local as you can. It's often best to start taking the local honey a couple of months before allergy season hits so your body can adapt.

Probiotics support overall immune health and many studies indicate that a strong immune system starts with a healthy gut. Probiotics are the "good bacteria" that we all need in our bodies and help prevent viruses, infections and allergies.

Lip balm helps lubricate dry, chapped lips when your nose is congested and you have to breathe out of your mouth.

Green tea is a powerful anti-inflammatory which helps reduce allergy symptoms. Green tea is ย loaded with antioxidants as well which also helps fight off seasonal allergies and cold symptoms.

Saline spray helps to lubricate your nostrils by reducing inflammation. ย It also helps to prevent post-nasal drip.

Jakemans Cherry Lozenges help to relieve throat and cough discomfort. They contain honey, lemon, anise and eucalyptus oil and are completely free from harsh chemicals. ย Their delicious flavors help to soothe an irritated throat caused by seasonal allergies or sickness.ย I really hope this care package helps to relieve my dad's horrible symptoms.

Here is the collection that I sent to my best friend:

You will notice that there are several similar products that I am sending to her. She will also receive the green tea, honey, lip balm and of course Jakeman's Honey Lozenges. I added a couple of different products to hers which I know she will be happy to try!

Bone broth is loaded with minerals, amino acids and nutrients. Bone broth has shown to help improve the immune system by reducing intestinal inflammation. ย Gelatin which is also found in bone broth and helps to restore the gut lining.

Apple cider vinegar is an age old remedy that helps to prevent viruses and enhance the immune system. Drinking one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in 6-8 ounces of water not only helps to relieve allergy symptoms, but can also help prevent future allergy attacks. ย  Make sure to buy the apple cider vinegar that is raw, unfiltered and has "the mother" floating in it to reap all of the benefits.

You can get colds all year long, even in the summer. I like to keep all of these on hand so I am prepared. Added bonus is that even my picky son liked the way Jakemans lozenges taste!

How do you take care of someone who has a cold or seasonal allergies? What are your favorite natural remedies?
