So ridiculously simple to prepare yet filled with flavor, these Easy Pear and Brie Quesadillas are the perfect combination of sweet and salty! These make a delicious appetizer, yummy snack or an easy meal.
I had these at a friend's party that she had catered a while ago and knew I needed to make them. These make the perfect, simple appetizer, lunch or snack.
Everyone went crazy for them and I was so intrigued by the combination of flavors together. I have always loved sweet and salty but who knew how much I would LOVE pears and brie cheese together?
These are SOOOOOOO incredible.
I often these when I need a quick and easy, healthy dinner recipe to make for my family. And at only 160 calories per serving, you can enjoy it too, guilt-free.
These are super easy to prepare and perfect for those hectic weeknights. You know, those nights when your kids all need to be in three different places at the same time and you need to whip something up fast?
Or when you just don't fee like making an elaborate dinner that not everyone in your house will eat?
Yup, one of those nights.
I used the Mini Brie Bites from Trader Joe's. They are portion-controlled and only 70 calories each.
How could these be any easier? These are also the perfect, healthy appetizer to eat while you watch your favorite football game, a holiday party or entertaining friends.
I think they are just the right amount of sweet and salty and everyone loves them. They are usually the first to be eaten at a party.
That's a friendly reminder to always double (or triple) the recipe. You will thank me.
Oh and many people have asked about the blueberries in the picture. Yes, they are there to add some color (and look pretty) but they complement each other perfectly too if you want to try it and let me know what you think.
Ingredients
- 1 organic whole grain tortilla
- ¼ organic pear I used Bosc, chopped in thin slices
- 1 Mini Brie Bite from Trader Joe's or 1 ounce Brie cheese sliced
Instructions
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Place open tortilla on skillet and spread pear slices and brie pieces on half of the tortilla.
- Fold tortilla in half and press down. Cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Using a spatula, turn quesadilla over and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let sit for a few minutes before cutting into thirds. Top with blueberries and additional pear slices if desired.

These babies might appear fancy, but only you and I will know just how easy they are to prepare. You can easily use another fruit like apple in these quesadillas if you do not like pears or if you don't have any in the house.
Go ahead and get creative using different kinds of cheeses if you would like. Please come back and let me know about your substitutions, I always love to hear about your creations.
I often like to make them after your suggestions and I am always thankful to hear from you.
