Stick to your New Year’s resolutions with these healthy, no bake snacks!
By mid January, many people have already quit their New Year’s resolutions! Mainly because most people create unrealistic, unattainable goals that they can’t keep up with. What most people don’t know is that snacks are a healthy and important part of a healthy eating lifestyle.
These snacks are made with all healthy ingredients that you can feel good about. I added red quinoa for extra protein (and the pretty color!) There are also gogi berries in these babies which are packed with antioxidants, Vitamins A and C and dietary fiber. Lastly, I added Sunsweet® diced prunes for added fiber, potassium and their delicious, sweet flavor.
Prunes, YES I said prunes! They are a powerhouse of nutrition and are also loaded with flavor. Prunes are simply dried plums and help with digestion.
Another reason to eat your diced plums, improved bone Health (which is great for all of us ladies out there): Dr. Bahram H. Arjmandi of Florida State University says, “Dried plums (prunes) are the most bone-friendly fruit that I have seen in decades. They are nature’s solution to maintaining good bone health.” Dr. Arjmandi hypothesizes that the many compounds and nutrients contained in prunes, such as vitamin K, potassium, copper and boron, likely work synergistically to have this positive effect. Additional research is currently being conducted to learn more about prunes and bone health. Love this. If the taste of these delicious bad boys doesn’t sell you, then the nutrition information will!
Ok, it’s time to share this ridiculously easy recipe…
