Hello my name is Lauren Kelly and I am a green tea addict.

    There, I said it.

Seriously, I think about it all the time.

I hate the taste of coffee ( I know, I know) and even tried to drink it during graduate school a couple of times to help keep me awake.  I can still think about it now almost 20 years ago and it can make my stomach turn.

I tried it with the sugary stuff in it because people said there was no way I wouldn't like it.  Yup, I found a way.

I even went to the fancy coffee shops and tried all of those flavors. Mocha stuff, caramel, vanilla…you name it, none of that tasted good to me.

Boy oh boy those fancy coffees are loaded with so much sugar and calories. Just a gentle reminder for all of you coffee addicts.

So then, I tried it with just milk and sugar.

    Nope that was even worse.

The funny thing was that I was studying nutrition and it didn't dawn on me that maybe I should give green tea a try.  I should have known better, right?

I never really needed caffeine like this before and wasn't about to start drinking Mountain Dews again like I did in college during finals.

    No judgements here please!

I remember back in college, my best friend and I drove from Maryland to Florida for spring break and I drove most of the way. Because I didn't drink coffee and needed some serious caffeine to stay away I drank Mountain Dews the whole time.

I have a stomach ache just thinking about that.

But I have to say, it worked. I had a bunch of energy even though I felt like garbage.

Now, the new and improved version of me knows better. I studied (and studied and studied) how I can fuel my body properly and ways to have caffeine in a much healthier way.

Side note I did try to drink coffee again after I had my first son because nothing prepares you for that kind of exhaustion. I was literally bumping into walls.

Nope, nothing. Even the smell was gross to me.

So I decided to give green tea a try foley for the caffeine. I was in desperate need of some energy and completely sleep deprived.

The first time I drank green tea was with milk and honey because that's what someone recommended.  It's not like I never had tea before but it was usually black tea or earl grey or something like that.

I didn't love it with the milk and honey so I tried it plain.  That's it, green tea and nothing else.

I was hooked.  And that's when my love affair began...

Like most of my recipes, I liked my green tea pure and simple. However, sometimes you just want to jazz it up a bit, you know what I mean?

And this Green Tea Latte is pure fun. And so pretty too!

So even though I typically drink my green tea plain, it's always fun to try different things right?  This latte is packed with antioxidants (did I mention how healthy green tea is for you?) and it's still vegan and dairy-free!

It really is a fun and delicious way to kick start the day. And that extra caffeine certainly doesn't hurt, especially when you are a tired mom or dad.

These pictures have me fully convinced. I need to try this latte. I'm a hard core coffee drinker, but I'm pretty sure I can change! And no, not judging you over the Mountain Dew consumption.

I LOVE the green tea they use at Starbucks because has just a hint of mint and it's so delicious in the summer. Now I'm craving some green tea just looking at these pictures...haha.

I do like green tea, but I usually find myself using matcha in food recipes, as opposed to drinking it straight. This sounds wonderful, maaayyyyybe I'll switch it out for my beloved coffee tomorrow morning. 😉

This is soooo pretty! I definitely want to try this. I'm a coffee drinker (I love it AND need it -- no judgement), but this would be a nice alternative!

I have to admit - I'm not much of a green tea person! But I've only had it loaded with sweeteners. You've convinced me to give it a try again - without everything added...
