Snickerdoodle Bars

Ingredients

  • 11/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup + 1 tablespoon unrefined sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
  • Combine flours, baking soda and cream of tartar in a small bowl. Mix well.
  • Mix ¾ cup sugar and butter with an electric mixer in a large bowl on medium speed until well blended.
  • Add honey, vanilla and egg. Mix well.
  • Press dough evenly into prepared pan.
  • Mix together cinnamon and remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl and spread on top of dough.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until toothpick placed in center of pan comes out clean. The edges should be golden brown.
