I collected my top ten favorite foodie items that I can’t live without. Hopefully you can find some of these beauties on sale and maybe even treat yourself!
Immersion Blender I absolutely love mine! I use it to make soups, salad dressings and even pesto! This is the one I have and it really does make life easier. And it’s surprisingly not expensive!
Electric Tea Kettle Ok, so technically this isn’t a “food” but this is a must have! It boils water so incredibly fast. I drink tea all day long (this Yogi Kombucha Green Tea is my favorite!) so I obviously use it for that, but I also use it to make my kids’ oatmeal, hot chocolate or just when you need to boil water for a recipe. It’s the best!
Food Processor I don’t know what I’d do without my food processor. I use it all the time for my recipes. I use it to make bread crumbs, almond meal and even to grind meat. I still use the one I got when I was married 14 years ago!
Cast Iron Skillet I love using my iron skillet. It’s (literally) made of iron and lasts forever. Speaking of iron, some of the iron does absorb into the food you are cooking which makes it healthier to use than non-stick. Oh, and iron skillets are already non-stick. I love it because you can use it on the stove and then immediately place it in the oven. It’s extremely versatile. I make french toast, frittatas, stir fry…you name it!
Bamboo Cutting Board I am always using my cutting board! I love this one because it’s made of bamboo and is so easy to maintain. It’s better for the environment and it’s really pretty too. I use it to cut everything (except meat) and I also use it as a cheese platter too.
This Boos Walnut Cutting Board is actually on MY Christmas list this year. Isn’t it gorgeous? It’s $179.99 so I doubt I will get it, but a girl can dream, right?
Wooden Spoon Set Every cook needs a sturdy set of wooden spoons! I use these all the time and sometimes I need 3 or 4 for one recipe! These are the ones I use, they are inexpensive and very durable.
Classic Knife Set I have this knife set that I am constantly using for my recipes. I also have the classic starter set from my wedding that I still use all the time as well.
Wine Glasses Again, technically not a food, but I LOVE to drink wine while I am cooking (who’s with me?) Why not drink out of (really big) pretty wine glasses?
Vitamix I invested in a Vitamix a few years ago begrudgingly and haven’t turned back since. I am in love with this machine. I make soups, nut butters, juices, smoothies, ice cream, tomato sauces, hummus…the list goes on and on. It’s very expensive, so it is an investment, but I have already gotten my money’s worth from it. I do realize that not everyone can afford it so here are some other great blenders that my friends and family love, Ninja Blender and Blendtec.
Of course I have to give myself a shameless plug right now! I am really proud of my cookbooks and I refer to them all the time when I am at home cooking! They make great holiday gifts too. Email me if you’s like me to personalize it and sign it too 🙂

I was going to put that walnut cutting board on my list until you pointed out the price. Ugh. Darn! It’s so pretty. And I love my immersion blender, too! So much easier to clean than the food processor / blender.
