I am always looking for easy and healthy after school snacks that I can prepare in just a few minutes. These are simple to make and everyone loves them!
I think the thing I am dreading most about back-to-school is the hour after we get home. This is my new “witching” hour. Remember when your kids were babies and they had that time of the day where they just cried?
Well, this is MY witching hour, where I cry.
Ok, maybe I don’t actually cry, but there are some days where I feel like I could. All three of them are starving, trying to do homework which they need help with and I am only one person.
My kids would be happy with potato chips or something else junky after school, but I feel strongly that they should have something balanced. They need some protein, some healthy carbohydrates and of course some sugar. In this case, natural sugar from apples. That’s why I was excited to try PARTNERS crackers which are made with a blend of five ancient grains: amaranth, quinoa, millet, sorghum and teff.
Unlike many gluten-free products, all Free for All Kitchen products are corn, soy and rice-free. And, I also love that all of their products are also GMO-Free.
All PARTNERS products are certified kosher and have never contained any hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors or preservatives.
Cheddar Apple Crackers
- sliced cheddar cheese
- apple cored and sliced
- Partners Olive Oil and Sea Salt Crackers
Place cheddar and apple slices on crackers!
These Cheddar Apple Crackers are also perfect for a healthy, simple lunch too. I constantly need to think outside of the box for my kids’ lunches because they get bored of eating the same thing ( I mean, who wouldn’t?)
Some other ideas for after school snacks made with PARTNERS crackers are:
- Sliced apples and pears with almond butter
- High Protein Edamame Hummus
- Peanut butter and honey
- Blueberry Chia Jam and cream cheese
The possibilities are endless. I feel much more prepared for after school snacks now!
I can’t wait to dip these Brownie Thins into my Healthy Chocolate Cookie Dough Dip which is insanely delicious!
