Healthy and easy, you will want to make this Blueberry Pomegranate Chia Seed Jam every week!  But first, let me share some details from my amazing trip to Cascadian Farms!

Blueberry Pomegranate Chia Jam

I am so excited to share my behind the scenes pictures from my trip to Washington (not far from Seattle) to visit one of my favorite companies, Cascadian Farms.  You might remember seeing some pictures on Instagram last month,  Sorry it took me so long to share these with you!

Being that it was my first time to Washington, I was really excited to see what it was all about.  I could not believe how beautiful it was!

Look how amazing these mountains are in Skagit Valley.

I was so impressed with their passion for organic farming.  Farmer Jim ,who began Cascadian Farms all those years ago, still works here as the farm manager and educates everyone who visits on the importance of organic farming.  Check out how green that grass is!

Cascadian Farms tripMost of the produce that is grown on this farm is sold at this adorable farm stand.  I love this!

And here is a picture of all of my new friends! Most of them are bloggers but some work for Cascadian Farms.  This was a really great group of people!Cascadian Farms TripFrom left to right pictured above: Kristen (from Cascadian Farms), Ashley (from Cascadian Farms), Amy and Natalie from Super Healthy Kids, Amy from Mom Spark, Miryam from Eat Good 4 Life, Brittany from Eating Bird Food, Elle, Farmer Jim, Kelly from Nosh and Nourish, Shaina from Food for My Family, Sherrie from With Food and Love, Deborah from Taste and Tell, Lauren from Lauren’s Latest, me and Katrina (from Cascadian Farms).

I also learned just how important bees are to organic farming!

Bee Friendlier Cascadian Farms

Cascadian Farms is so passionate about protecting our bees, in their Bee Friendlier campaign.  It made me want to go home and plant wildflowers!

Planting native wildflowers is a great way to help bees and other pollinators because bees need access to nectar and pollen to help them grow and survive, and wildflowers are an excellent source of both.  Love it.

My kids and I are going to do some planting this spring!

Now onto this delicious jam…

Blueberry Pomegranate Chia JamIsn’t it pretty?  And it’s so ridiculously easy to make too!

I used Cascadian Farms Organic frozen blueberries (which are always in my freezer!)  I added pomegranate arils to make it a little naturally sweeter but I bet you can use whatever fruits you’d like.

I have also made this with Cascadian Farms frozen harvest berries too.  Check all of their frozen fruit and pick your favorite!

Blueberry Pomegranate Chia Seed Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen Cascadian Farms blueberries
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. Leave frozen blueberries on counter to defrost for 45-60 minutes.
  2. Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend slightly. (I left a few chunks of fruit).
  3. Pour into a jar or airtight container and place in the refrigerator for at least an hour to set.

See, I told you it was easy! And chia seeds are loaded with fiber, proteinantioxidants and healthy omega fats so this is super healthy too.  It also only has 2 tablespoons of sweetener in the whole jar!

Thanks for allowing me to share my trip with you! It was such a great experience.  I can’t wait to plant wildflowers this spring.  And make some more of this chia jam! 😉

Hello Joan! The longest I’ve had it is a little over a week (it doesn’t last long in my house!) but I bet it would be fine up to 2 weeks! I hope you like it!

Have you tried to “can” or preserve this recipe? I love this but I have two large bags of frozen pomegranate seeds and would need to store jam longer than week. Thank you
