I am always on the lookout for new protein powders to incorporate in my healthy eating regimen. Even though I try to eat a well-balanced diet of whole foods, I am a realist when I say that my life gets way too hectic at times and sometimes I need a little help. Since I don’t eat red meat, fish or pork, I really have to make sure I am getting adequate protein each day. So you can probably guess that I was more than happy to test out the new vanilla-flavored Burt’s Bees™ Protein +Healthy Radiance protein shake!
My first thought…WOW! I didn’t know Burt’s Bees makes protein shakes!
I know they’ve made amazing, natural health and beauty products, but they believe that beauty and wellbeing start, and should come, from the inside out. That’s why they are introducing Burt’s BeesTM Protein Shakes, a collection of delicious plant-based proteins that allow you to drink-in all the benefits of nature’s most powerful ingredients, so you’ll feel ready to embrace each day to the fullest.
Ok, I like that. And how true. You need to nourish your body from the inside out.
What I loved instantly….the packaging! How pretty and colorful is the container?
Burt’s Bees plant based protein formula was carefully crafted with four organic protein sources – Pea, Rice, Flax Seed, and Sunflower Seed – and rounded out with Oats to achieve high digestibility and a complete essential amino acid profile. I love that this contains 70% organic ingredients, is non-GMO, and made with no artificial sweeteners or flavors. It is also dairy-free, soy-free and gluten-free. Reading labels on protein powders are so important, so many of them are packed with unnecessary junk!
Protein +Healthy Radiance is enhanced with antioxidant Vitamins A, C & E for a healthy glow. And who doesn’t want glowing skin?
This particular day, I was extra busy trying to get out of the house with my kids so I simply mixed Burt’s BeesTM Protein +Healthy Radiance powder with water and ice cubes. Check out how easy this was…
I was impressed with texture of this. It was silky smooth without and any grit or chalkiness. Those who know me realize that texture is an issue with me and certain foods (shrimp and cream cheese are just two examples!) so I was pleasantly surprised to see such a wonderful, creamy shake.
It was creamy and foamy on top, almost like a latte, but with protein, fiber and only 2 grams of sugar per serving. I don’t know any lattes that only contain that amount of sugar!
